Some of the reasons for their specualtion include Apple recently registering to sell mobile phones and service as well as their filingto trademark the phrase "Mobile Me". "Mobile Me" doesn't scream iPhone to me, maybe more of a portable media device, a beefed up iPod video perhaps?
