  Speaker plugs directly into the internet

From the the Japanese National Institute Of Information and Communication Technology (the NICT) comes the NET Speaker. The NET Speaker doesn't even need to be connected to a pc to run. You can connect it to a PC to configure it's settings, like volume and such, but once that's done, hook it right into the internet and you're off and running.
