AOL begins to open up Since people are leaving the service in droves, probably after figuring out you can use AOL IM from basically anywhere, AOL is trying to transition to a different kind of internet company to compete with the likes of Yahoo, Google and MSN. AOL has now began to make their proprietary content freely available thru their AOL.com website (at http://beta.aol.com). Is this too little too late? The beta website doesn't "pop" or ooze coolness, yet.  ¶ 6:48 AM
