Sony and Toshiba one step closer to world peace Word has it that Sony and Toshiba are in talks to combine Toshiba's HD-DVD software with Sony's Blu-ray hardware in hopes of making things easier on consumers everywhere. Since this would mean that Sony would kind of win the format war, Toshiba vehemently denied any stories of Sony being any where close to coming out on top stating:

At this point ... nothing has been decided and absolutely no decision has been made for unification on any basis.

Yeah, sure. I smell a bitter loser who is still trying to hold on to hopes of coming out on top. I hope these rumors of talks are true. I would had to waste money going back and forth between two different formats. That would be such a pain. Ugh.  ¶ 5:29 AM
