Intel announces WiMax chip
In a move set to infuriate the home wireless network extender market, Intel is to announce their partner-backed WiMax chips today. It will have the ability to pump out a wireless signal in an approximate radius of 5-miles, making it a lot easier to reach homes/building where tunneling hi-speed cable wasn't possible or too expensive Hopefully this will help the U.S. get back into the high-speed race. The reason this is a big deal is because of all the companies backing Intel like AT&T, Qwest, Siemens, Texas Instruments and British Telecom. more details
