Adobe scoups up Macromedia
This kind of surprised me,
Adobe has agreed to buy
Macromedia for $3.4 billion (all-stock). You can bet the some Macromedia products will probably be going away since some of them seemed like direct competitors to Adobe's flagship products. Like Fireworks and Freehand. Who would choose those products over Illustrator and Photoshop? I hope thell combine what those programs did well and incorporate those features into Adobe's existing lineup. It will be weird to open up Flash and see an Adobe icon. Hell has frozen over.
