Motorola cell phone explodes in boy's pocket, causing 1st degree burns

A 10-yr old boy (pictured) recieved 1st degree burns on his leg and his groin area when his Motorola cell phone exploded in his pocket. No word from Motorola on this yet. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't say anything at all. The article doesn't state any specifics about the cell phone. I would be interested in what kind of phone it is, if the deaulft battery was being used or some kind of thrid party battery and if any kind of modifications were made to the phone or was it still just the unchanged factory model. Hopefully there would be some kind of study by an independant party to determine if a recall should be made not. I want to feel safe when I'm listening to my tunes on my future iPod phone. News article here.

Interesting.. I've read about Nokia phones blowing up but this is the first case of a Motorola phone that I'
ve heard of anyway.

I remember hearing about the nokias too. I wonder if this could be a cell phone issue in general or just specific manufacturers.
